MindLab Olympics 2024

MindLab is an innovative Methodology that, through thinking board games, has developed cognitive, emotional and ethical skills in young people.

On Friday 9 August, St Andrew’s School hosted the 14th national MindLab Olympics competition. Participating schools included, Wilderness, Pembroke, St Peter’s Girls, Pulteney, Trinity College North, Trinity College South, Trinity College Blakeview, Trinity College Gawler River and St Andrew’s School. This competition allowed students to apply the critical thinking skills they developed during the MindLab program, from Year 3 to Year 5. All participants in the competition demonstrated exceptional levels of persistence, sportsmanship, and compassionate play. The following students received individual medals for their chosen discipline on the day:

Premier Division
Abaolne Ivan – 3rd
Checkers Arjun – 3rd
Quoridor Joshua – 3rd
Octi Bella – 3rd

1st Division
Abalone Louis – 1st
Checkers – Emma – 2nd
Quoridor – Jet – 1st (joint)
Octi Houyi – 1st

There is also a team component to the competition. The St Andrew’s School 1st Division team were awarded 2nd place and The St Andrew’s School Premier Division team were awarded 1st place. Another very successful year for our St Andrew’s School MindLab Olympics players.
