The much-loved St Andrew’s Cross Country Run provides opportunities for students aged 8 to 9 years to compete over a 1.6km course, and students aged 10 to 12 years to compete over a 2km course, located along the River Torrens Linear Park.
Swimming Carnival
The annual St Andrew’s Swimming Carnival for students in Years 3 to 6 is held at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre.
The Carnival follows a focused week of swimming lessons for children in Years 3 to 5, ensuring that students are provided the opportunity to develop their skills prior to participating.
The Swimming Carnival is always an exciting day for the students, and a much looked forward to event.
Junior Primary Sports Day
Each year in Term 4, students from Reception to Year 2 participate in tabloid-style Sports Day. The children take part in a variety of different throwing, kicking, running, and jumping activities.
The Junior Primary Sports Day is a wonderful introduction to the traditional School Sports Day, giving children the opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed during weekly PE lessons.
Year 3 to 6 Sports Days and Sports Day Finale
Students in Year 3 to 6 participate in an athletics-based year level Sports Day traditionally held in Term 1, comprising tabloid-style track and field events.
A Sports Day Finale is then held towards the end of term, which includes Team House events, all track finals for students who placed in their respective year level Sports Days, and field event finals in Discus, Shot Put, Vortex, Long Jump and High Jump.
Parents are invited to come along and cheer on their children, in what is always an exciting culmination of the skills the children have learned in the PE program.
