FAQs
Do all the specialist subjects commence in Reception?
Children in Reception have the opportunity to study Chinese, Art, Music and Sport, all of which are taught by specialist teachers. They will also spend time in the Library with the School Librarian.
How is religion integrated into the curriculum?
As an Anglican School, we support the ethos of the Anglican Church. This also includes attitudes that align with our IB programme of service to others, global citizens who welcome all faiths, and, participating in Church services and recognising and celebrating specific Christian events such as Christmas and Easter. We also follow a Religious Inquiry Program in our year level groups.
Additionally, we learn about and or recognise religious celebrations of other faiths that our community belongs to, such as Ramadan and Eid.
Why has St Andrew’s chosen IB PYP?
IB PYP students develop knowledge, conceptual understandings, skills and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile to make a positive difference in their own lives, their communities, and beyond. For us, this is important for creating successful, happy children who develop these lifelong dispositions for facing the world as adults, and in the present.
