FAQs
Do I need to reapply for a position for my child to commence in Reception if they already attend the Early Learning Centre?
When applying for enrolment at St Andrew’s School, we only require one application per student. If your child is commencing in the Early Learning Centre, you do not need to reapply for Reception.
Do you offer the Government Child Rebates for the Early Learning Centre?
Our Early Learning Centre is an approved provider of childcare, and so eligible parents can claim the CCS. Families will be asked to provide details at the time of enrolment.
If eligible, the CCS will apply to the Early Learning Centre Daily Fee, After School Care and Vacation Care.
How old does my child need to be to commence in the Early Learning Centre and what are the main requirements?
St Andrew’s is registered to enrol children from the age of three. We expect that all children are toilet trained prior to commencing at the Early Learning Centre as there are no nappy changing facilities available.
Is it an expectation that if my child attends the Early Learning Centre that they will continue to Reception?
It is not a requirement for children in the Early Learning Centre to continue onto Reception at St Andrew’s. However, a significant number of children choose to transition into either our Reception or Mid-Year Reception classes.
Is there a School uniform for the Early Learning Centre?
All Early Learning Centre students are required to wear the St Andrew’s School uniform. A second-hand and new uniform shop is located on campus.
What are the minimum days for attendance in the Early Learning Centre?
The minimum booked attendance is three days per week.
What curriculum does the Early Learning Centre offer?
The Early Learning Centre is guided by the Reggio Emilia Philosophy, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years programme. Children also enjoy specialist lessons with our Music and Art teachers.
What is the enrolment process for the Early Learning Centre?
Parents complete an online application form available on the School’s website. Upon application, we require a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunisation records, and any relevant learning assessments and visa information.
When a position becomes available, families will be invited to attend a Student Profile meeting and will receive a Letter of Offer and Enrolment Contract.
Upon offer, a non-refundable Confirmation Fee is payable to secure your child’s place.
All students will attend an Orientation morning in their allocated classroom, in the term prior to commencement.
